Czapek Antarctique GMT Milano Edition Czapek & Cie, the Geneva-based independent watchmaker, has unveiled a stunning new limited edition of its Antarctique model, created in collaboration with GMT Great Masters of Time. A partnership that celebrates both Swiss precision and Italian elegance.
Limited to just 30 pieces, the Antarctique GMT Milano Edition features a 40.5mm stainless steel case and a distinctive grainy 4N gold dial—a signature color tied to GMT’s identity. The dial, made by Metalem, features a sophisticated texture achieved through a mix of stamping and satin finishing, enhanced by a galvanic gold plating process. At the core of this piece is Czapek’s in-house SXH5 movement, complete with a micro-rotor and an impressive 60-hour power reserve.
This collaboration carries personal meaning for Czapek CEO Xavier de Roquemaurel, who has strong ties to Italy’s design culture. For GMT Milano’s Jacopo Corvo, the timepiece highlights their passion for independent watchmaking and pays tribute to their signature 4N gold, an integral part of the company’s identity. Presented during Milano Watch Week, this limited edition is a rare gem available exclusively at GMT Milano’s boutique on Via della Spiga, a fitting location for this extraordinary release.

Czapek Antarctique Purple Storm The Czapek Antarctique Purple Storm is a new addition to the Antarctique collection, presented as an 18-piece limited edition. This timepiece was introduced at The Horology Club’s 3rd Anniversary event in Hong Kong on November 20, 2024. It’s standout feature? A hand-varnished dial by Swiss specialists Metalem.
The concept started when Xavier de Roquemaurel, CEO of Czapek & Cie, encountered an artist working with Metalem who specialized in creating unique hand-varnished dials. These designs were so distinctive that they hadn’t been offered to any brand, with one dial even resembling a cosmic nebula. During Dubai Watch Week, Xavier met an Instagram collector, ‘@Tranqated,’ whose fascination with astronomy inspired a lively discussion. This encounter planted the seed for a space-themed dial. By May 2020, as Czapek prepared to launch its Antarctique collection, this idea materialized into the Antarctique Orion Nebula series—10 unique pieces featuring galaxy-inspired dials, which sold out quickly. Subsequent designs included the turquoise Abyss, green Emerald Iceberg, and Celestial. The newest addition, the Purple Storm, is the first to showcase vibrant violet tones using this specialized dial-making technique.
The dial of the Antarctique Purple Storm has a striking violet gradient, capturing the mood and intensity of a natural storm. Designed to evoke movement and mystery, the dials reveal swirling layers of purple that mimic storm clouds when touched by light. Housed in a stainless steel case, the watch is powered by Czapek’s in-house SXH5 caliber, an automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve. The movement features a variable inertia balance wheel for enhanced precision and efficiency. Its micro-rotor is made from recycled platinum and is visible through the sapphire case back.

Czapek Antarctique Rattrapante Gold Dust SHH Edition The Czapek & Cie Antarctique Rattrapante Gold Dust SHH Edition is a limited 25-piece timepiece, exclusive to Sincere Fine Watches’ SHH boutique in Kuala Lumpur. This unique edition features solid 18-carat 5N rose gold on the chronograph counters and peripheral minutes ring, offering a striking contrast to the grey and silver movement, case, and bracelet. This design choice echoes the luxury and creativity of the SHH boutique.
This Antarctique Rattrapante Gold Dust SHH Edition is a split-second mono-pusher chronograph, showcasing its intricate mechanism through the dial. Created in partnership with Chronode, it is powered by the proprietary calibre SHX6, a double column-wheel chronograph movement. The Antarctique Rattrapante’s design maintains a balance between high-end mechanics and refined aesthetics, highlighted by a 42.5-millimeter case and visible movement components, including a tripod bridge, satellite minute train, and a patent-pending split-second mechanism.
Functionality includes a minute totalizer at four o’clock and small seconds at seven o’clock, emphasizing layout symmetry. The movement uses a horizontal clutch for its aesthetic appeal, with column wheels anchoring the movement, reflecting the influence of François Czapek’s 19th-century designs.
This edition also comes with Czapek & Cie’s integrated bracelet and an additional blue rubber strap, embodying sporty elegance and high complication in watchmaking.

Czapek Antarctique Royal Onyx During Dubai Watch Week 2023, Czapek introduced the Antarctique Royal Onyx, a limited edition variant of its Antarctique sports watch. This timepiece features a 40.5mm stainless steel case and a striking black onyx dial, enhanced by blue sapphire baguette hour markers. Its 10.8mm height and 120m water resistance make it versatile and practical.
The dial’s black onyx requires precise cutting and polishing to achieve a mirror-like finish, providing a vivid contrast for the skeletonized steel hands (with a blue-tipped second hand) and indices, ensuring readability.
Powering the Antarctique Royal Onyx is the in-house automatic calibre SXH5, which includes a platinum 950 micro-rotor and seven bridges, five of which are openworked, with a 60-hour power reserve. The watch lacks a date display but offers hours, minutes, and seconds. Its exhibition case back reveals the intricate movement, including hand-chamfered, sandblasted black bridges and a black-polished steel central bridge.
The Antarctique Royal Onyx is paired with an integrated stainless steel bracelet featuring polished C-shaped links and the Czapek Easy Release system for easy strap interchangeability. This model, limited to 18 pieces, is a collaboration with Mansour Jewellers.
