Roger Dubuis has unveiled the Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph, a high-performance timepiece inspired by its partnership with Lamborghini Squadra Corse and the Lamborghini Revuelto. This watch represents the fifth generation of chronograph design for Roger Dubuis, known for its excellence in watchmaking.
The watch is powered by the RD780 caliber, offering a remarkable 72-hour power reserve and a Flyback function for seamless timing operations. Unlike modular designs, this caliber is built from scratch, integrating the chronograph complication into the movement. It showcases a visible column wheel at 6 o’clock, enhancing both function and aesthetics, and features a vertical clutch with a Second Braking System for precision timing.
One standout feature is the 120° Rotating Minute Counter (RMC) at 3 o’clock, adding a playful element to the chronograph. The RD780 caliber also incorporates a tilted balance wheel at 9 o’clock for resistance against knocks and a diamond-coated silicon escapement wheel for anti-magnetic qualities. It holds the prestigious Poinçon de Genève certification, a symbol of fine watchmaking.
The design of the watch reflects the speed and style of supercars, with bold orange and green accents reminiscent of Lamborghini’s colors. A signature “Y” shape bar on the dial mirrors the headlights of a Lamborghini V12 hybrid supercar. The case is made from lightweight carbon and ceramic, paying homage to supercar construction materials.
The Excalibur Spider Revuelto Flyback Chronograph features a multi-dimensional design with a floating tachymeter scale, a lower date display, and skeletonized pushers. The rotor on the back resembles the rims of a supercar’s wheel. It comes with a green rubber strap with orange stitching and a Quick Release System for easy strap changes.
This limited-edition timepiece is limited to 88 pieces and will be showcased at Watches and Wonders Shanghai. Roger Dubuis continues to push the boundaries of horological innovation and design with this thrilling chronograph.
