In 2017, Rado collaborated with the innovative Japanese fashion designer Kunihiko Morinaga to produce a limited edition timepiece that seamlessly integrated the brand’s expertise in materials with Morinaga’s renowned color-shifting technology. Recently, Rado and Morinaga unveiled their latest joint creation, the Rado True Square x Kunihiko Morinaga Special Edition watch.

The newest iteration of the Rado True Square x Kunihiko Special Edition watch is undeniably striking. Its square-shaped polished black monobloc high-tech ceramic case and crown exude sophistication. The black PVD sandblasted titanium case back features the inscription: KUNIHIKO MORINAGA SPECIAL EDITION, set against a sapphire crystal.

One of the standout features of the watch is its transparent dial, characteristic of Kunihiko Morinaga’s style, treated with a photochromic layer that changes color in response to light conditions. Under sunlight, the True Square’s dial darkens, transitioning to gray and ultimately becoming transparent as daylight wanes, revealing the automatic Rado calibre R734 within.

The Rado True Square x Kunihiko Morinaga is presented on a polished black high-tech ceramic bracelet secured by a titanium three-fold clasp. It is water resistant to 5 bar (50m) and is accompanied by a Special Edition certificate.
