Description

The DiaStar Original Skeleton is a significant timepiece in Rado’s collection, marking the evolution of their watchmaking. Launched in 1962, the original DiaStar stood out with its unconventional design and robust materials, gaining a dedicated following. In 2022, to celebrate its 60th anniversary, Rado introduced new models, notably shifting from tungsten carbide to Ceramos™ for the case material. Ceramos™ is known for its durability, lightness, and scratch resistance, enhancing wearer comfort and offering a unique feel.

The latest update features a yellow-gold colored DiaStar Original with a Ceramos™ bezel, the first of its kind. This DiaStar Original Skeleton showcases Rado’s Art of Skeletonization, revealing the anthracite-grey coated R808 automatic calibre through the sapphire crystal on both the front and back. This movement, resistant to magnetic fields due to its Nivachron™ balance hairspring, provides an 80-hour power reserve and is water-resistant up to 100 meters.

The watch’s aesthetic is highlighted by a black dial with contrasting white and yellow-gold elements, including indexes and hands coated with white Super-LumiNova® for enhanced legibility. The dial features a gold-colored Rado anchor symbol on a red background. It is presented on a polished and brushed yellow-gold colored PVD coated stainless steel bracelet equipped with a triple fold clasp and Rado’s EasyClip system.

This yellow-gold colored model continues the radical design legacy of its predecessors, combining a muscular yet elegant shape with a dramatic skeletonized movement and heritage case. It embodies Rado’s founding vision of turning imagination into reality, showcasing their commitment to innovation and design excellence.
