Description
The Louis Moinet MOON TECH is an extraordinary watch limited to just eleven pieces, featuring a unique display of the lunar cycle. It showcases the full moon and new moon with lunar meteorites on a central disc, with a golden circle indicating the full moon’s position. The mechanism behind this complication is highly precise, deviating only one day in 122 years. Developed in collaboration with Concepto, the exclusive automatic calibre bears the signature of independent watchmaker LOUIS MOINET.
The watch incorporates fragments of Kapton leaf from the Apollo 11 mission, adding historical significance. Two lunar meteorites, Gadamis 005 and Dhofar 457, represent the full moon and new moon respectively. The dial design, resting on a silicon wafer engraved with microelectronic circuits, creates a visually stunning interplay of light and reflections. Luminescent material ensures readability in the dark, while an ingenious subdial at 9 o’clock displays sector seconds.
The watch’s technical complexity is further highlighted by the openworked zone revealing the balance wheel and escapement. The redesigned oscillating weight adds a modern and sophisticated touch. Encased in polished and satin-finished titanium, the MOON TECH is exceptionally lightweight and features a domed sapphire crystal for enhanced dial visibility.
