In 2016, LAURENT FERRIER made waves in the world of haute horlogerie with the Galet Traveller Globe Night Blue, an exceptional timepiece that captured the beauty of Earth as seen from space at night. To celebrate the brand’s 15th anniversary, this masterpiece returns as the Classic Traveller Globe Night Blue, now featuring an exquisite enamel dial. The original engraved white gold continents are replaced with opaque blue enamel, enhanced by hand-painted specks of gold. Using the age-old champlevé technique, the convex gold planisphere gives depth to the dial, while delicate enamel work brings the world’s city lights to life against the dark oceans.

The outer ring, finished in satin-brushed slate grey, enhances the floating effect of the globe, complemented by drop-shaped indices that extend beyond the dial’s edge. Designed for globetrotters, this timepiece features a dual time zone function. Two perfectly symmetrical pushers on the left side of the case allow for effortless hour adjustments without affecting the minute hand. The date display at 3 o’clock updates automatically at midnight when crossing time zones, while the 24-hour reference time at 9 o’clock ensures an intuitive day-night distinction.

At its core lies the LF 230.02 automatic calibre, featuring a unidirectional micro-rotor and a double direct-impulse natural escapement for optimal efficiency and a robust 72-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire case-back, it has rhodium-plated Côtes de Genève decoration, circular graining, hand-bevelled bridges, and polished screw heads.
