The Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team (Ref. IW388306/07) showcases IWC’s innovative use of Ceratanium®, a material that blends the lightness and structural integrity of titanium with the hardness and scratch resistance of ceramic. This unique alloy, developed to IWC’s specifications, is machined using computer-controlled methods and then hand-finished. A key process involves firing the components in a kiln at high temperatures, resulting in a phase transformation that gives the material a ceramic-like surface and a distinctive matte black finish. The watch is available in two versions: one with a black rubber strap and a Ceratanium® pin buckle (Ref. IW388306), and another with a Ceratanium® bracelet equipped with an integrated folding clasp (Ref. IW388307).

The new Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team includes a ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale for measuring average speed over a distance. The watch has a black dial with Super-LumiNova®-filled blackened nickel indices for readability, and a polished black lacquer finish, showcasing intricate craftsmanship.

Inside, the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre movement, designed for robustness, reliability, and precision. It features a bi-directional pawl winding system with a 46-hour power reserve and column-wheel chronograph control for clear phase definition and tactile button resistance. The movement’s assembly and testing processes are meticulously carried out at IWC’s Manufakturzentrum to ensure top quality.
