Ferdinand Berthoud

The Ferdinand Berthoud CHRONOMÈTRE FB 3SPC recently celebrated its first anniversary and won the “Chronometry prize” at GPHG 2023. This model, notable for its white gold case and black movement, features a unique variable-inertia balance and cylindrical balance spring, certified by COSC. First launched in October 2022, it quickly gained acclaim, including awards from Revolution magazine as “Best Men’s Watch 2022” and topping the “High Watchmaking” category at the “CH24 Watch of the Year 2023.”

The FB 3SPC is part of the FB 3 collection, which differs from the previous FB 1 and FB 2 series by focusing on cylindrical balance springs, a hallmark of precision in the Berthoud family’s watchmaking history. Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, President of Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud, aimed to integrate this balance-spring into a wristwatch while maintaining accuracy, a challenge he successfully achieved, as reflected in the watch’s accolades.

Marking its anniversary, the Chronomètre FB 3SPC features a new design with a 42.3 mm 18-carat white gold case and a movement in black and anthracite colors accentuated by gilded hands.
