Description

To celebrate a decade of uncompromising precision and horological artistry, Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud introduces four new interpretations of its Chronomètre FB 3SPC. Brought back under the visionary leadership of Karl-Friedrich Scheufele in 2015, the brand has resurrected the genius of 18th-century horologist Ferdinand Berthoud, translating his legacy into a contemporary language of haute horlogerie. This milestone collection makes history by incorporating platinum for the first time in the FB 3 line, an ultra-limited series that embodies the Manufacture’s relentless pursuit of excellence and refinement.

Platinum, known for its density and resistance to wear, becomes a canvas of quiet opulence in the hands of Berthoud’s artisans. More than 30 hours of detailed work are needed to complete each of the 57-part cases, with polishing alone demanding unmatched expertise to achieve the brand’s signature brilliance. These cases house the award-winning FB-SPC movement, the only wristwatch calibre combining a cylindrical balance spring with a variable-inertia balance, chronometer-certified by COSC and lauded with the Chronometry Prize at the 2023 GPHG.

Two new executions debut with this anniversary release: a salmon PVD-treated version paired with a sandblasted salmon-toned calibre, and a bold black PVD edition with darkened bridges and rhodium accents. Both are limited to just 20 pieces and offer the option of a diamond-set configuration—an homage to the Maison’s close ties with Chopard. Each gem-set model, limited to five pieces, features 77 diamonds totaling over four carats, set on the case, buckle, and crown, culminating in a briolette-cut diamond.

Completing this evolution, the FB 3SPC collection introduces a new ergonomic folding clasp, offering comfort and micro-adjustability. As the brand embarks on its tenth-anniversary celebrations, these new references stand as a testament to its unwavering dedication to chronometric excellence and artistic legacy—produced in numbers as rare and exceptional as the timepieces themselves.
