Description

In the 1950s, Cuervo y Sobrinos made a popular watch called the ‘Tradition’. Now, they’ve released a modern version called the Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Tradición ‘San Rafael’. This new model is inspired by the original but designed for today’s audience, with a 40mm case size.

Cuervo y Sobrinos started in 1882 and became well-known, especially after moving to a prestigious location in Havana frequented by famous people like Caruso, Churchill, and Hemingway.

The original Tradition watch had a unique design with special features like a grid pattern on the dial and red arrow-shaped seconds hand. Collectors love its mix of Latin style and Swiss craftsmanship.

The new Historiador Tradición ‘San Rafael’ pays homage to the 1950s Tradition but with modern updates. It comes in three versions: Champagne, silver, and a new burgundy color for 2024. The dial keeps the grid pattern and red seconds hand but replaces Arabic numerals with the Cuervo y Sobrinos emblem.

The stainless steel case is 40mm, comfortable for today’s wearers, and the back features an engraving of the brand’s old boutique in Havana. The watch runs on a Swiss automatic movement with a 38-hour power reserve.
