Ressence Type 1° DX3 The Ressence TYPE 1° DX3, a collaboration between Ressence and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, is a limited edition watch that combines the complexity of Arabic mosaics and the horological technique of cloisonné. This watch marks the conclusion of a six-year partnership and is the third in a series, maintaining continuity with its predecessors while offering a unique interpretation of Arab art. The series features watches with dials inspired by Arab Geometric Art and a rose gold color scheme reminiscent of desert hues. Benoît Mintiens, the founder of Ressence, emphasizes the universal appreciation of aesthetic balance across different cultures and trades.
The Type 1° DX3’s dial colors are logically arranged, with darker shades radiating outwards, and the cloisonné design becomes particularly visible in the dark due to the use of grade A Super-LumiNova® on the dial and numerals. The DX3 is built on the T1° Round model, known for its new pebble-like case, providing a smooth and tactile experience. Alongside the launch of the DX3, Ressence has also released a limited edition book titled “Arts & Crafts in Motion,” detailing the creation and craftsmanship of the DX trilogy. The Type 1° DX3 is limited to 35 pieces.

Ressence Type 1° Round Multicolor The M stands for Multicolor in Ressence’s new TYPE 1° M. A vibrant and innovative addition to the TYPE 1 Round collection, launched to captivate those with an appreciation for color in design. This watch features a polychromatic dial, showcasing a playful yet sophisticated array of colors on its hour, minute, second, and weekday discs. The primary colors red, blue, yellow, and green are set against a light grey dial, creating a visually striking effect.

Ressence Type 3 BB2 Meet the TYPE 3 BB2, honored with the ‘Best of the Best’ distinction at the 2024 Red Dot Design Award, often considered the Oscars of product design. This edition enhances the hyper-minimal design of the TYPE 3 with a striking black finish, where the dark hue and oil-filled chamber render the space between the discs nearly invisible, creating a mesmerizing effect when the dial moves.
Benoît Mintiens, Founder of Ressence, describes the nearly pitch-black TYPE 3 BB2 as showcasing the magic of flush rotating discs, which act like a mechanical screen, tricking the viewer’s senses. The watch features an edge-to-edge sapphire crystal, resembling a sleek dark pebble, and a matt black DLC-coated titanium case that contrasts subtly with the glossy sapphire.
Building on the limited 2022 TYPE 3 BBB’s reduced color palette, the TYPE 3 BB2 primarily uses white and light grey inscriptions with touches of primary colors on weekends and oil temperature indicators. Originally launched in 2013 as the first oil-filled mechanical watch, the TYPE 3 offers exceptional readability from any angle by eliminating light refraction. It also remains easily readable in low light, thanks to Grade A Super-LumiNova®.
To maintain performance despite temperature fluctuations, Ressence developed the Bellows System, a self-regulating pressure-balance mechanism graphically represented by a temperature gauge on the dial. The TYPE 3 BB2 joins the TYPE 3 Black, White, and Eucalyptus Green in Ressence’s innovative lineup.
